An exquisite ceremonial blade from the Consulate period, this Court Member's Sword exemplifies early 19th-century craftsmanship. The ebony handle features silvered brass molding and distinctive ram's head keels, intricately engraved with floral motifs. The straight, double-edged blade and flat centre showcases gilded decoration with trophy engravings and silvered brass accents, completed by a cap button and two leather ridges. The lyre-shaped dart adds refined elegance to this historical piece, once carried by members of the Tribunate - one of the four assemblies - the prestigious assembly of approximately one hundred members appointed by the senate - Located at the Palais - Égalité (Palais-Royal) appointed under Napoleon's year VIII (1800) constitution. It participated, with the legislative body, in the procedure for adopting the law and was abolished in 1807. A remarkable artifact of French political and military heritage.
