Venus on stand

Italian School, 19th century. A refined neoclassical marble interpretation of the Crouching Venus, after the celebrated Venus of Lely. Carved in luminous white marble, the gracefully posed figure measures 50 cm in height and is mounted on a green marble pedestal (sellette) bringing the total height to approximately 113 cm. The sculpture bears authentic period patina with professional restoration visible on the hand, neck, and base; evidence of its age and historical significance. An exceptional acquisition for collectors of classical sculpture and neoclassical works.
